NETCDC and CISD presents....
Sherri Meadows, M.Ed., CALT
CISD District Coordinator for Dyslexia
"Dyslexia 101-
Straight talk to address common questions"
Our goal this evening is to answer the questions we hear all the time, from parents, and from educators. This presentation is a must-see for those of you who feel that a better understanding of this common condition will help to improve the educational experience for a student with symptoms of dyslexia. Some of these topics include:
•
What are the characteristics of dyslexia?
•
How prevalent is the condition?
•
How does dyslexia affect children?
•
What does the most current research tell us?
•
How important is early identification and intervention?
•
What are the related disorders?
•
How can accommodations help in the classroom?
•
How can I help at home?
•
Where can I get reliable information?
Our Community Breakout Session will follow the speaker. The Community Breakout Session will provide you with a chance to meet others from your own community and have the opportunity to share ideas and issues specific to your district.
Teachers: CE credit document provided upon request
